Dogs Learn to Drive a Car

I have seen many ads for doggie drivers license, of course this is a novelty DL. But three talented dogs; Monty, Ginny, and Porter, have learned to drive a car in New Zealand. After months of training they can start the engine, steer and accelerate.

The Doggie Driving School was designed to change the public’s impression of rescue dogs and to encourage greater adoptions. “I think sometimes people think because they’re getting an animal that’s been abandoned that somehow it’s a second-class animal,” SPCA Auckland’s CEO Christine Kalin told the New Zealand Herald. “The dogs have achieved amazing things in eight short weeks of training, which really shows with the right environment just how much potential all dogs from the SPCA have as family pets.” Full story.

Max, a Boston terrier, has been filmed cruising through the streets of Brooklyn with not a care in the world – in fact he manages to steer a straight course without even paying attention to the road at times. Is the dog’s name Max or Mac? Anyway, he is driving, or so it seems. :)

Questions About Your Pet Food?

I feed my dogs holistic formula kibble, 2 cups per day for each 60 lb. dog. Their treats include carrots, baked yams (cut in thin slices) apples, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, yogurt and other healthy human food.  (not all at the same time) I do not buy store-bought treats. All my dogs are at proper weight.

Andi Petrillo asked some dog owners questions about their dog food. There are some interesting pet facts at the end of the video. Please research for more info or look at my articles under ‘nutrition’ or ‘dog food’.  Enjoy this short video!
