The Odd Couple

Tarra, an elephant, and Bella, a dog have a unique friendship at The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennesee.

Tarra and Bella have been close for years — but no one really knew how close they were until Bella suffered a spinal cord injury. She couldn’t move her legs, couldn’t even wag her tail. For three weeks she lay motionless up in the sanctuary office.

And for three weeks the elephant held vigil, although Tarra had 2,700 acres to roam free, but she just stood in the corner, beside a gate, right outside that sanctuary office until Bella fully recuperated.

This is proof of what I know to be true we are all connected on this planet no matter what species we are. How many stories have you heard of an animal helping a sick child or a pet saving his owner from harm or even death?
