Diggin’ Your Dog Strippin’ Chicks Pet Treats Recall

March 7, 2013 – Diggin’ Your Dog announced today the brand is voluntarily withdrawing one lot of its Strippin’ Chicks Pet Treats produced on August 30, 2012 because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

The product sample was obtained in Colorado and the company has accounted for its distribution in both that state and Nevada.

What’s Being Recalled?

The product being withdrawn is Diggin’ Your Dog Strippin’ Chicks Pet Treats in the 5 ounce bag. The Lot Code is 250322 with a “Use By” date of February 23, 2014.

No other Diggin’ Your Dog products, lots or production dates are affected.

About Salmonella

Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms…

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea
  • Abdominal cramping
  • Fever

Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments — including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms.

Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers.

Animals with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some animals will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.

Infected but otherwise healthy animals can be carriers and infect other animals or humans.

If an animal is known to have consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, pet owners are asked to contact their veterinarians.

What to Do?

Customers who have purchased the affected treats are advised to stop feeding the product to their pet, remove the lot code from the packaging, and discard the contents.

A full refund plus $1.00 to cover postage will be received by mailing the UPC and lot code to Diggin Your Dog, LLC, PO Box 17306 Reno, NV 89511.

All refunds will be processed within ten business days (plus postage time).

For more information, consumers are invited to contact Diggin’ Your Dog by phone at 775-742-7295 Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM PT — or by email at info@dydusa.com.

  4. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like
yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

    • it doesn’t cost anything to start a blog.if you want your own domain (take out WORDPRESS in the URL) for a small fee. check out wordpress.com. it is easy with the themes available and walks you through it. blogger is another free blogging platform at blogger.com. this is easy to use as well. or u can google free blogs.

  6. Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

    • that’s fine. i use wordpress and just used a photo of my golden for the header. I made some of my own widgets on the side to share what i am passionate about. wordpress is listed as a good free blogging platform. they have premium themes that are much nicer, but they are not free.
