Seven Days of Sundogs: Day 5 Puppy Fix
Nothing warms your heart more than puppies!
This WAS typical afternoon play with the puppies last year about this time.
FACE PLANT is what I call this photo.
Poor baby. Mama does not even care,.
Mama does not care because she is having too much fun playing keep away from her babies. Nevada and Lassen are getting in on the play too.
This is about the time mama tries to wean. We have a little of that going on.
Babies win out. Time for a drink.
Lassen and Nevada wait patiently.
There is fun to be had.Pit stop completed. “We are ready to go play.”
“Not me. I’ll just watch what you do.”
Nevada and Lassen split and Grandma Maisie shows up.
Grandma has the right smell….kinda.
You can’t hear the low growl in this photo.
But you can tell what she is saying huh?
“No milk. Boobies out of business.”“But I like to…

Eyes are the window to the soul. I always look at a dog’s eyes. They say so much!
Favorite Video Friday – Bretagne, a special day for a special dog
This video honors Bretagne, a rescue dog of nine eleven, a golden retriever. Enjoy her special birthday! Her owner says that Bretagne is that one special dog for her and though she is 16 years old, acts like a pup around water…just like my Lexi.
If the date, September 11, fell on a Friday before, I did not notice it. However, today seems like the very best time to have it fall on a Friday. Why? Because today I have the opportunity to share a video that honors the last living search and rescue dog from that day.
Bretagne was one of 300 dogs who swooped down on Manhattan to help search for people and then for remains. This is a dog who, like the other dogs of 9/11, deserves our love, honor and recognition. I hope you will find her special day as touching as I did.
Have a good day everyone.
If you get a chance, send a little wish of love to Bretagne and her handler.
Sydney
I adopted Sydney in December 2013 after I fostered her for a year from It’s the Pits Dog Rescue in San Diego. She was adopted out once as a pup and brought back to It’s the Pits at 10 months old, this is when I began fostering her. She was adopted out once while in my care and the lady brought her back within 24 hours. Not nearly enough time for her to adjust. Her loss, my gain. Sydney has a funny personality, but scares most people with her loud barking. I just tell them she is my guard dog :). We have been through many ups and downs. We drove (my daughter and I) from Southern California to Kentucky in 2 and a half days in June 2014. She did really well, but was not wanting to get back in the van near the end of the trip. I…

Ricky Gervais Urges End to Yulin Dog Meat Festival | Ecorazzi
More than 10 million dogs are killed for their meat in China every year. The dogs are tortured first, often boiled alive, because it’s believed they “taste better” that way. The Yulin festival was created back in 2010 by dog meat traders as a way to boost business — it is not a Chinese tradition, which is it’s been wrongly assumed to be. Please sign the petition to stop this horrific act against dogs! Thank you
Ricky Gervais is supporting the Humane Society International Rescue’s attempt to shut down China’s cruel dog and cat meat trade, including the infamous Yulin dog meat festival.
Despite officials denying that the Yulin dog meat festival will happen on June 22, the HSI believes that the massive dog slaughter will indeed happen as evidenced by the footage that the organization recently shot which shows festival slaughter preparations underway in Yulin late last month.
The HSI is hopeful that with enough international outrage, the horrific event will finally be cancelled once and for all.
Cue comedian and animal activist Gervais who’s been active on his Twitter account about the cause, trying to round up support from his millions of followers. Earlier today the comedian posted a petition to stop the Yulin Dog festival, which over 300,000 people have already signed.
On behalf of HSI, the “Derek” start penned a heartfelt note to…
