10,000 square foot grassy shaded divided for large and small dogs. Benches and water fountains, tables chairs, nearby coffee shop, vet and grooming services This is most entertaining and features a giant fire hydrant, dog bone and doghouse.

Del Mar
At the border of the south end of Solana Beach and the north end of Del Mar, or North Beach. During certain times of the year (day after Labor Day), dogs are allowed to run free off-leash, and its quite a spectacle on the weekends.
Dog Beach Parking: Pay your meter diligently, or buy a $4 all-day pass from the little pay-and-display-your-ticket box at the top of Camino del Mar, just before Villa de la Valle. If you continue South past the bridge to 29th St. and beyond, you’ll find free parking on both sides of the street, though it does get crowded on the weekends.

El Cajon

Encinitas

Nearly an acre fenced in, shaded, grass-covered park. Built-in water fountain (one for you, one for your dog!) Benches . Separate, enclosed area for small dogs and puppies (11 weeks and older)

Escondido

La Mesa

7 a.m. – one hour after sunset.
Three fenced dog areas. Some shaded grassy and dirt areas, pick-bag dispensers, water, and benches. There is a hay bale for all your jumpers and lots and lots of balls.

Lighted large,grass dog-run area with shady trees, benches,fountains.
Wooden crossbar fenced. Dogs could escape.

Off-leash pet areas: Inside fenced off-leash dog area, dawn to dusk. Large and small dogs in one area. Dogs must be leashed in all other areas of the park. Located in northeast Santee near Cajon Park Elementary School, this 10 acre neighborhood park’s features include the Woodglen Vista Skate and BMX Park, a basketball court, two tennis courts, large turf areas, a baseball/softball field, a large picnic pavilion, picnic tables, barbecue grills and two playgrounds.

Ocean Beach

Dog Beach  The Original Dog Beachlexis-running on beach

This very popular spot has “painted paws” in the sand leading to the leash free surf area. Dual-level drinking fountain and restrooms. Don’t be afraid to take your little one. Dog owners are very responsible. I have never seen a dog fight here. No fencing.   24 hours.

Oceanside

1.5 acre fenced grassy park, benches drinking fountain, pick up dispensers.

Pacific Beach

Open 24 hrs (no lighting)
A daytime favorite – this one-acre park offers two grassy fenced large and small dog areas picnic tables, benches, drinking fountains, and a portable toilet.

Poway

Rancho Bernardo

A double-fenced area split into three smaller areas This park is very large, with grass, trees, benches, and three biodegradable disposable bag dispensers in each area
