Woohoo! I am number 6.
We, San Diego, have many pet friendly stores and restaurants. It is not unusual to see doggy water bowls out. We have many off leash dog parks and beaches. Even our ballpark, home of the Padres, is named Petco Park. Dogs are allowed at certain games. We have Pet Day on the Bay, you and your doggy can take a Hornblower cruise around the harbor, which benefits the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
My Lexis belongs to the San Diego Golden Retriever Meetup Group. Sue, the head organizer, always says look for the gaggle of goldens when we meet for an event. They do lots of fun stuff and lots of events to help the animal community. The events include parades, dog beach, dog park, canine cancer walks, surf dog competitions, movie nights and much much more. One time we all went to a spa and every year there is a Hornblower cruise-Pet Day on the Bay– that benefits Helen Woodward Animal Center and a Halloween Pooch Party.
Last week Sue was interviewed by Sue Manning, of the Associated Press. She asked Sue questions about our annual Halloween Pooch Parade, and asked for a few pictures. Check out this link to the Washington Post article. Pretty cool!
